YOUR WORKSPACE

Recent audits

Up to 10 recent audits in this browser session, retained for 30 days. Clearing session cookies removes access. Comparisons use scans from this session.

What this audit can tell you

Website crawl

Checks downloaded HTML, metadata, internal destinations, language links, JSON-LD structure and passive security signals. Findings apply to the pages reached within your scan limit.

Mobile browser audit

Optional Lighthouse checks run against the starting page in a mobile browser. Lab results and available real-user measurements are labeled separately. Provider failures are marked Not tested.

Comparisons with context

Issues are compared only on pages successfully retested. AI content observations are editorial suggestions; they do not measure inclusion in AI answers.

01 / CAPABILITIES

What can this website SEO audit tool do?

Advanced Audit is an online website SEO audit tool for reviewing a group of connected public pages. Enter a starting URL, choose a limit of 5, 10, or 25 pages, and let the crawler follow internal links on the same origin. You receive a page list, detailed checks, site findings, and suggestions linked to the evidence found during that scan. This makes it useful when a single-page website SEO checker cannot show how several pages relate to each other.

The report covers the pages actually reached within your selected limit. It is a focused site audit, so start with an important landing page or a well-connected section. The crawler respects robots.txt, avoids query URLs and account or action pages, and does not sign in to your website. A blocked page or failed request needs investigation before you can treat its content as reviewed.

Page SEO analysis with evidence

Open the Pages tab, select an analyzed page, and inspect its detailed checks. Review titles, meta descriptions, headings, canonical declarations, language signals, links, images, and supported structured data checks. Each applicable result provides context and a suggested next step. Filter warnings and failures first, or inspect all checks to understand what has already passed.

Find problems across scanned pages

The Findings tab brings important issues together, including supported checks for duplicate metadata, broken destinations among scanned pages, and conflicting language relationships. Look for repeated issues that may come from a shared template. A broken-link finding applies to the destinations checked in this crawl; unvisited links are outside the report's coverage.

GEO and AIO content observations

Review six focused observations about answer passages, main content landmarks, named entities in JSON-LD, external references, steps or tables, and structured data types. These observations help you review how information is presented. They do not measure actual mentions of your brand inside an AI answer or predict whether an AI system will cite your page.

Optional mobile browser testing

Select the mobile option to send the starting URL to Google PageSpeed for a mobile Lighthouse audit. Review performance measurements and available rendered SEO checks for that starting page. The regular crawl analyzes downloaded HTML and response signals; the optional browser test adds a different view of how the starting page performs on mobile.

Compare scans and export your report

Return to recent audits in the same browser session, compare successfully retested pages, and export the website SEO audit report as JSON. Comparisons help you check whether a repair changed an issue. Keep the starting URL and crawl limit consistent when possible so the two reports cover a similar set of pages.

Repair guidance for your CMS

Use the CMS repair selector in Findings for supported categories to see guidance suited to WordPress, Shopify, or a custom website. Metadata, schema, and image changes may belong in different places depending on your setup. The tool gives recommendations; you or your developer make the changes and rerun the audit to verify them.

02 / YOUR WORKFLOW

How to run a free website SEO audit online

You do not need to install a browser extension or create an account to begin. Choose a publicly accessible webpage that represents the section you want to examine. For a small website, the homepage is often a useful starting point because it links to important pages. For a larger site, audit a product, service, or article hub when you want more focused findings.

  1. Choose your starting page and coverage

Paste the full URL and select 5, 10, or 25 pages. Begin with five pages when checking a recent change. Use a larger limit to inspect more connected pages. Enable the optional mobile browser audit when you also want performance information for the starting URL.

  2. Review findings, then open the affected page

Start the audit and wait for the queued scan to finish. You can return to it from this browser's recent audits. Read high-priority findings, switch to Pages, and open the detailed check for the affected URL. Check the observed evidence before deciding how to fix the issue.

  3. Apply a focused change and scan again

Repair a small group of related problems, record what changed, and rerun the same starting URL. Use Changes to review comparable results. Export the report when you need to share findings with a developer or keep a record beyond your browser session.

03 / SEO + GEO + AIO

Build content that is easier to understand and answer from

SEO means search engine optimization: improving the accessibility, clarity, and usefulness of webpages for search and people. GEO means generative engine optimization, a term used for improving how content can be understood in generative search experiences. AIO is often used for AI optimization; here, it describes reviewing content presentation for AI-assisted discovery. AEO, or answer engine optimization, focuses on answering the questions people ask. These terms overlap, so use them to organize useful work rather than to chase separate scores.

Technical SEO remains the foundation

Google explains that existing SEO practices also apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode. Pages need to be indexed and eligible to show a search snippet, and no special AI schema or additional AI text file is required. Prioritize crawl access, internal links, useful text, and an understandable page experience. Meeting those conditions does not guarantee inclusion. See Google's guidance on AI features and websites.

Use the GEO audit as an editorial checklist

When a report identifies a question heading, read the passage underneath it. Does the opening sentence answer that question directly? Can someone understand the answer without reading the whole page? Add necessary detail, examples, definitions, or a comparison table when they help. A numbered process suits a task with a real sequence; a table suits comparable facts. There is no reason to force either format onto every page.

A named organization or author can make responsibility clearer when that identity is accurate. References can help readers verify claims, but a detected external link does not prove that its source is trustworthy. Review the destination yourself. Likewise, the presence of an article landmark or JSON-LD type is an observed content signal, not proof that a page is authoritative or ready to rank.

Keep structured data aligned with visible content

Schema should describe what readers can actually find on the page. Do not add invented ratings, identities, or claims to satisfy a check. Google requires structured data to be relevant and representative of visible content, and correct markup alone does not guarantee a rich result. Read Google's structured data guidelines before choosing a supported markup type.

04 / MAKE A FIX PLAN

A website SEO audit checklist you can act on

First

Resolve access and broken experiences

Investigate failed requests, unavailable pages, unexpected indexing directives, and incorrect canonical destinations. Confirm whether a restriction is intentional before changing it. Repair broken navigation to important content. Treat a finding as a prompt to examine the page in context, especially when private, checkout, or account pages are meant to stay outside search.

Next

Improve clarity and shared templates

Give important pages descriptive titles, useful summaries, and headings that match their purpose. If multiple scanned pages have the same metadata, check whether a template is reusing a default value. Review missing image descriptions according to the image's function. Decorative images and informative images need different treatment; understand the evidence before applying a blanket rule.

Then

Strengthen answers and measure progress

Improve vague explanations with relevant examples and clear next steps. Review mobile findings for the starting page, then retest after changes. Combine audit evidence with your own Search Console and analytics data to understand traffic trends. This tool does not connect to those accounts, track keyword positions, or establish the cause of a traffic decline.

Understand mobile lab results and field data

Lighthouse lab measurements describe a test under simulated conditions. The mobile report may show Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift, Total Blocking Time, First Contentful Paint, and other available measurements. Total Blocking Time is not Interaction to Next Paint. Real-user field data appears only when the provider returns it. Missing data or a provider failure is marked as not tested, rather than treated as a successful result.

Write for people, then verify the details

An audit helps you identify observable issues, but it cannot decide whether every sentence satisfies your audience. Review your pages for original information, accurate examples, clear ownership, and a useful purpose. Google recommends people-first content and explicitly says there is no preferred word count. Use the space needed to answer the question well. See Google's helpful content guidance.

05 / QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Website SEO audit, GEO and AIO FAQs

What is a website SEO audit?

A website SEO audit reviews observable technical and page-level signals that may need attention. This tool crawls a limited group of linked public pages, runs applicable checks, and explains findings with evidence and suggestions. Use the report to plan repairs and verify changes, alongside a manual review of your content and business goals.

Is this a free website SEO audit tool?

Yes. You can run an audit without payment or an account. Choose a scan limit of 5, 10, or 25 pages. Usage limits and queue capacity apply, and scans are subject to public access and robots rules. A free scan covers the reached pages within that limit, rather than every URL on a large website.

How is it different from a website SEO checker?

A single-page SEO checker focuses on one URL. Advanced Audit follows internal links and lets you review several pages together, including supported findings across scanned pages and comparisons with earlier scans. For a quick check of one page, use our website SEO checker; for linked-page analysis, start an audit here.

Does the tool give SEO suggestions or only show crawled pages?

It provides detailed page checks and suggestions as well as the crawl list. Open Pages, select an analyzed URL, and review the check details. The Findings view groups actionable issues, while GEO & AIO shows content observations. A skipped, blocked, or unsuccessful page may not have the same analysis as a successfully downloaded HTML page.

What is a GEO audit, and does it check AI rankings?

A GEO audit here reviews content presentation signals that can help you organize an editorial review: answer passages, identity markup, references, steps, tables, and structure. It does not query ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or Google AI answers to measure brand mentions, citation frequency, rankings, or share of voice.

Can I use it for an AIO or AEO content audit?

Yes, as a supporting checklist for answer clarity and content structure. Read the actual page and decide whether it answers the intended question accurately. The observations are suggestions, not compulsory formats or AI eligibility rules. Use our AI Search Analyzer for the site's dedicated AI search content review workflow.

Will it analyze every page of my website?

No. Each scan stops at your selected limit of up to 25 pages, and it only follows eligible links on the starting origin. Depth limits, crawl rules, blocked requests, and skipped URL types also affect coverage. Audit important sections separately and review the reported pages before drawing conclusions about your whole website.

Can I audit a WordPress or Shopify website?

Yes, if its public pages can be accessed by the crawler. The report analyzes the returned webpage rather than requiring a CMS plugin. Supported finding categories offer WordPress, Shopify, or custom-site repair guidance. Theme settings, SEO plugins, or custom code may control the item you need to change.

Does the mobile SEO audit test every crawled page?

No. The optional Google PageSpeed mobile browser audit tests the starting URL. The other reached pages receive the regular downloaded-HTML analysis. Selecting the mobile option sends that starting public URL to Google. Use separate scans when you need browser results for different important landing pages.

Are security checks a complete vulnerability scan?

No. The audit can observe passive signals such as supported response headers, cookie attributes, and mixed-content references. It does not attempt exploitation, inspect private systems, or certify that a website is secure. Review findings with your developer and use a dedicated security assessment when your needs extend beyond those signals.

Where are my audit reports saved?

Recent audit access is tied to this browser session. The workspace shows up to ten recent audits and retains reports for 30 days. Clearing session cookies removes your access. Export useful reports as JSON if you want a separate record. Another visitor's browser session cannot open your saved report merely by knowing its identifier.

Will fixing all findings guarantee more traffic?

No audit can guarantee rankings or traffic. Fixing a genuine issue can improve a page's accessibility or usefulness, but search demand, competition, content quality, and many other factors affect performance. Prioritize meaningful repairs, repeat the scan, and evaluate search impressions, clicks, and conversions in your own reporting tools over time.
